Uniforms

Every three years, WPRC arranges for the racers to purchase new uniforms. No racer is required to have the WPRC uniform, but the vast majority of the racers opt to do so. This is because WPRC, through its relationships with various ski gear manufacturers (e.g., Spyder and Phenix), is able to offer its members the highest quality ski clothing at substantial discounts.

Members joining the club in a year when we are not getting new uniforms may be able to purchase used jackets or pants from members who have outgrown them. At the annual membership meeting in November, families are able to bring used clothing and equipment and offer them for sale to other members.

Racers typically wear their uniforms on training days. On race days, most racers J-IV and older will wear a racing "speed suit" under their uniforms. Speed suits are usually one-piece, Lycra body suits in bright colors. At the top of the race hill, the racers will shed their pants and jacket and ski through the course in their speed suits. Parents or siblings can help by skiing down to the finish with the racer's jacket and pants so the ride back up the lift is not so chilly for the racer.
