Alumni
WPRC is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the development of youth athletics through alpine ski racing. We have been fortunate to have had the participation and support of a great many athletes, families, and friends who have stewarded our club through many decades. The club welcomes your continued support and involvement of its alumni and parent alumni. Here are several ways to remain involved with the organization that means so much to you.
Social Gatherings:
Most families initially join WPRC for the ski racing, but stay involved because of the lifelong friends. Alumni are welcome to join us celebrate our friendships at WPRC Social Gatherings throughout the year, including the Christmas Camp Social, Race Awards Banquets, and the Year End Banquet. Please see the Events Calendar for dates and information on specific events.
Volunteering:
Just because you don’t have a child in the race doesn’t mean you can come join in the camaraderie of race days. We are always looking for help on race day and supporting the Special Olympics (end of January). Please contact the Volunteer Coordinator to sign up ahead of time for a specific role, or just show up on race day, and we’ll put you to work.
Duct Tape Series:
Still have that ski racing bug in you? Come join fellow alumni and current parents in our fun, low pressure race series. Race are typically scheduled at the end of practice, and awards are based on the best 2 of 3 runs. Please contact the Club President for further information.
Race Sponsors:
WPRC hosts up to 9 race days a year. In order to reduce the financial burden on the racers, the club seeks financial sponsors for each of our races. Sponsoring a race is a great way to give back to the next generation of ski racers and is an effective means to market your company. If you are interested in sponsoring one of our events, please contact the Club President for further information.
Financial Contributions:
WPRC is a non-profit organization with 501(c)(3) IRS status. Contributions are gratefully accepted and will help us pursue our mission and support our programs. All gifts will be appropriately acknowledged. Donations may be made by mailing a check to:

Young Alumni and Christmas Camp
WPRC welcomes high school and college age alumni back to join us during your college holiday recess. Recent WPRC alumni are able to continue their involvement with WPRC in one of two ways during the Christmas Camp period:
1. Training
You are welcome to train with the U16 or U19 group and participate in training / racing activities as you have done while you were a member. In order to do this, you must provide the following to the Program Director before training with the group:
a. Signed WPRC release form
b. A check made payable to “WPRC” for $200
c. Proof of current USSS membership
Please note: The check for training will not be cashed until the end of the Christmas training camp. For those athletes that go above and beyond just training with the group, and consistently assist the coaches throughout Christmas camp, we will not deposit the check. Assistance includes, showing up to all training sessions 15 minutes early (ready to go), assisting
with training and race setup and tear down, and being a coach’s aid/demonstrator when skiing in a group setting. If you are interested in assisting, please make your intentions known to the U16 or U19 coaches at the start of Christmas camp.
2. Coach's Aid
We are always looking for recent WPRC alumni to help out on the coaching front. As a coaching aid, you will not be training with WPRC as an athlete, but instead you will be assigned to work in a coaching capacity with one of the younger age groups (most likely U10 – U12). You will not (and cannot) be assigned to coach a group of kids on your own, but instead you will be teamed up with a WPRC coach to help with their group.
For this role, we are looking for people who are willing to commit to at least 8 of the 11 sessions of Christmas camp. If you are interested in this role, you will need to complete the necessary paperwork for coaching with WPRC prior to the start of Christmas camp. Please contact the Program Director to express your interest and get the necessary paperwork started.
If you plan to join us for Christmas Camp, please let the Program Director know your intentions by December 1, so that our coaching staff can plan accordingly and to make sure that you have the necessary paperwork in place before joining us.
