Here is a link to the PARA Western Region race calendar (as of 5/24/22):  2023 WPRC Race Calendar.

Please note that PARA decided to schedule 3 state level races on one weekend.  Specficially, U12 States, U14 States, and the U16 Series finals all occur are scheduled for the weekend of 2/24-2/26.  This means that race crews and families will be stretched very thin.  Because of this, our club (and PARA) will need everyone to pitch in to make this work.  That means that if you can stick around to help with running U14 States at 7 Springs, we need you.  If you travel to Roundtop or Blue that weekend, the race organizers will need your help volunteering.  Please avoid travelling this weekend, and keep this in mind as you plan for next season.

Here is a breakdown by age group.  We will review the schedule at the Membership Meeting prior to the start of our season:

U18+:  The PA Cup scheduled is similar to last year.  The only change with this series is that there will only be 1 cup awarded for each gender, and only high school students are eligible for the cup.  This includes U21’s who are attending high school.

  • PA Cups 1 &2 @ 7 Springs on 1/14 – 1/15
  • PA Cups 3-5 @ Blue Mt. on 2/3 – 2/5
  • PA Cups 6-8 @ Elk Mt. on 3/3 – 3/5

U16: The U16 Series continues similar to last year, with a change for the first race venue.

  • U16 Cups 1&2 (SL) @ 7 Tussey Mt. on 1/28-1/29
  • U16 Cups 3&4 (GS) @ Elk Mt. on 2/11 – 2/12
  • U16 Cups 5-7 @ Blue Mt. on 2/24 – 2/26

U12 & U14: The same regional racing for qualification to state championships will continue for both these age groups.  Qualification for States will be through 5 Western Region Qualifiers (2 Skills Competition, 2 GS, and 2 SL).  In order to maximize training, there are 2 weekends of racing with a SL and GS race each and the races being split between 7 Springs and Wisp.

  • Qualifier #1 (Skills Competition) @ Hidden Valley on 1/22
  • Qualifier #2 (SL) @ 7 Springs on 1/28
  • Qualifier #3 (GS) @ Wisp on 1/29
  • Qualifier #4 (GS) @ 7 Springs on 2/11
  • Qualifier #5 (SL) @ Wisp on 2/12
  • U14 PARA States @ 7 Springs on 2/24 – 2/26
  • U12 PARA States @ Ski Roundtop on 2/25 – 2/26
