Building Usage

We are currently working with the mountain to determine the appropriate usage of the WPRC facilities.  As we get more information, we will update this page.  In the meantime, here are some of the things to consider as you start to think about what this winter will look like:

  1. We are going to keep people outside as much as possible
    1. Do not enter buildings if you don’t have to!
    2. Come dressed for the weather
  2. Come to mountain prepared to ski
    1. Think about using your cars to boot up or get warm.
    2. Parking lots to consider using:
      1. Maintenance lot below Avalanche lift
      2. Hotel lot and walk down the stairs to the training center
  3. All buildings will have limited capacity
    1. Limits will be based on PA health guidelines
    2. Capacity limits are currently set at 20% of maximum occupancy
  4. Wear masks at all times
  5. Wash hands or use hand sanitizer before leaving

WPRC Training Center

  • WPRC coaches
  • Locker rentals
  • 10 people
  • Capacity will be very limited
  • Need to limit time spent in building
  • Plan on arriving no more than 20 minutes before session
  • Plan on exiting 5 minutes before session starts

Ski Patrol - Lower Level Bathrooms

  • Open to the general public
  • TBD
  • The bathrooms in the lower level will be open to the public.
  • However, there can be NO ONE standing in that hallway leading back to the bathrooms.

Gate Shack

  • WPRC coaches
  • Setup crew
  • 2 people
  • During race days, we must prevent people from congregating inside the shack
  • Shack needs to be closed when not in use

Timing Hut - Top Floor

  • Timing Crew
  • Race Secretary
  • Race Jury
  • Announcer
  • 4 people
  • Jury meetings will need to occur outdoors

Timing Hut - Bottom Floor

  • Setup crew
  • Chief gatekeeper
  • Volunteer Coordinator
  • 2 people
  • ---

Start Hut

  • Hand timer
  • Start referee
  • 1 person
  • We need to be vigilant about limiting access to this building
