Social Distancing Policy
Maintain a minimum of 6 feet when at rest and 10 feet when exercising from others not in your household both indoors and outdoors. For our ski racers, 6 feet is approximately the length of a racing gate. Another helpful approximation of 6 feet would be the ski pole test. If you can touch someone with your ski pole, you are too close!!!
Areas where social distancing may be challenging:
- Congregating at the start of practice
- Skiing in groups - when stopped all together
- Course inspection
- Start of course
- Bottom of course
In order to help space people, we may use multiple strategies, including:
- Keep groupings to a minimum
- Have coaches supervising the start and finish areas
- Utilize visual markers such as poles or blue dye markings
Western Pennsylvania Race Club (WPRC) is a successfully run ski program based at Seven Springs. The club has been in operation since 1962. WPRC promotes the development of youth athletics through alpine ski racing.
